Race Report - Croft Christmas Stages
On Sunday 28th December Ryan paiered up once more with his uncle Andrew Hepworth to compete in the annual install of the Croft Christmas Stage.
This year again using the Hepworth International prepared Vauxhall Nova they were looking for a good result after a 2 year break from the event following a engine disaster in 2012, now with a brand new rebuilt engine by Hepworth International the car was ready to run.
A snow flurry brough worry to the event on the Saturday night but at 6am Saturday morning there were no snow insight just very cold temperatures and a very icy stage.
All 8 tarmac stages were completed without any issues and without penalty meaning that the pair were looking good for a third in class until a last minute run took the third in class away, meaning the pair finished 4th in class and 21st overall.
Speaking after the rally Ryan said "Today was a good day, a bit tricky at the start of the day due to the ice but we were on pace throughout the day, we were here to take it steady as we had a brand new engine and didnt want to push it too hard so the engine has chance to run in. It's a shame we missed out on the third in class, but we are both happy with 4th and the car has a lot more to give. Hopefuly we will be able to get the funding to participate more in 2015 but we will see."
Ryan is currently looking for sponsorship for the 2015 and 2016 season, with a number of different disciplines open to sponsors, for more information please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07599565424
